One Park Place, Downtown Houston’s finest luxury high-rise building, has continued to enhance the downtown area and draw Houstonians back to the center of town since the building’s completion in May of 2009. Until recently, most of the residential units in downtown Houston were conversions of older buildings into loft spaces. The Finger Companies pioneered the revitalization of our city center by building a brand new addition to the striking city skyline. It is therefore no surprise that the first major grocery store to open downtown, Phoenicia Specialty Foods, is on the ground floor of One Park Place, a rock’s throw from Discovery Green, Houston’s most unique urban park. Finger sought and lobbied Phoenicia to make the expansion.
Phoenicia, whose original location was recently nominated as a finalist for Best Supermarket in the 2011 My Table magazine Houston Foodie Star Awards, is scheduled to open in the Fall, and will feature boutique wine, tasty tap beer, fine gelato, coffee, YUMMY! Pizza and other gourmet fare at the new Phoenicia MKT BAR that will feature a 250-seat dining area.
This addition is just the newest step in the trend of urban development set by Finger Companies. With its rich night life, luxury living, and unique parks and stores, Downtown Houston has become a destination spot that is fitting for one of the U.S.’s most cosmopolitan cities!
Expect to take a tour of the Phoenicia’s new store and its state-of-the-art conveyer pita bread-line this coming November - opening dates will be announced Tuesday Oct 25th.
